Happy but on the transfer list

New Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson
Since Ronnie Jepson took over as manager things have been going well for us. The team is coming together and we´re picking up a few more points. I definitely feel we are moving in the right direction, and if we keep playing the way we have been playing and have a bit of luck along the way then we will start creeping up the table.

A lot of the problems this season have come about because of injuries and we´ve not been able to get a settled team. I myself was out injured for a long time and am slowly getting back into it. I felt really fit against Bournemouth last week and I´m now just looking forward to getting another 90 minutes under my belt against Bristol City on Boxing Day.

It´s a little bit of a six pointer. We want to increase the gap between us and the teams at the bottom, and if we can get a few back to back wins over Christmas then we can look towards the top half of the table.

There is still half of the season left and I don´t think the play-offs are out of the question. I think we can do it. It´s just a matter of getting the same team out there week in week out and we´ll be all right.

I´m happy at Gillingham but I´ve been on the transfer list since the beginning of the season. I got called in and was told the club need to release a bit of pressure off the wage bill, so if a good offer comes in for me in January I don´t think the club will turn it down.

It will be difficult for me to move on. I´ve been at Gillingham for seven or eight years now and it´s my local club. But sometimes you´ve got to do what´s best for your career. I´ll be disappointed, but obviously I´m ambitious and if a bigger club comes in then I will definitely consider it.

If a team came in and I didn´t want to go I could stay where I am, because I´ve still got a year and a half left on my contract. I have however spoken to my agent and there has been a little bit of interest from a few teams, but at the moment nothing concrete because I need to get a few games under my belt after being out injured for so long. Once I´m fit, we´ll see what happens.
