The team is coming together and we´re picking up a few more points. I definitely feel we are moving in the right direction, and if we keep playing the way we have been playing and have a bit of luck along the way then we will start creeping up the table. A lot of the problems this season have come about because of injuries and we´ve not been able to get a settled team. I myself was out injured for a long time and am slowly getting back into it. I felt really fit against Bournemouth last week and I´m now just looking forward to getting another 90 minutes under my belt against Bristol City on Boxing Day. It´s a little bit of a six pointer. We want to increase the gap between us and the teams at the bottom, and if we can get a few back to back wins over Christmas then we can look towards the top half of the table. There is still half of the season left and I don´t think the play-offs are out of the question. I think we can do it. It´s just a matter of getting the same team out there week in week out and we´ll be all right. I´m happy at Gillingham but I´ve been on the transfer list since the beginning of the season. I got called in and was told the club need to release a bit of pressure off the wage bill, so if a good offer comes in for me in January I don´t think the club will turn it down. It will be difficult for me to move on. I´ve been at Gillingham for seven or eight years now and it´s my local club. But sometimes you´ve got to do what´s best for your career. I´ll be disappointed, but obviously I´m ambitious and if a bigger club comes in then I will definitely consider it. If a team came in and I didn´t want to go I could stay where I am, because I´ve still got a year and a half left on my contract. I have however spoken to my agent and there has been a little bit of interest from a few teams, but at the moment nothing concrete because I need to get a few games under my belt after being out injured for so long. Once I´m fit, we´ll see what happens. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
